Cindy Margolis Wiki Biography
Cynthia Dawn Margolis was born on 1 October 1965, in Los Angeles, California, and was raised in a Jewish family. She is familiar as a supermodel, Playboy Playmate, glamour spokesmodel and actress, during a career which began in the mid-’80s when she won a couple of beauty contests.
How rich is Cindy Margolis? Currently, Margolis’s net worth is estimated to be over $15 million. Most of which she owes to her long career as a famous spokesmodel, but her impressive net worth has really been built mainly on her various successes as a model, and it is certainly telling that she found her way into the 2000 “Guinness Book of World Records” as 1999’s “most downloaded person”.
Cindy Margolis Net Worth $15 Million
A common anecdote attributes the start of Margolis’s career to a class project she took part in during her time at California State University at Northridge – where she designed a business card featuring a photo of herself wearing lingerie, alongside her phone number. Apparently, that was enough to get Margolis noticed – agents soon started asking after the woman in the photograph, and her modelling career began.
This modelling career has been the source of much of Cindy Margolis’s net worth. In 1986, Margolis was named Miss Makita Power Tools, and subsequently appeared in several woodworking trade shows. Much of her work has been in advertising, and in this Cindy Margolis has worked with various companies – “Reebok”, “Coors”, “Vidal Sassoon”, “Hanes”, “Sunkist” and “Frederick’s of Hollywood” included. She had a brief career in infomercial presenting and co-presenting, appearing alongside figures such as life coach and motivational speaker Tony Robbins, and infomercial salesman Don Lapre. In 2000, Margolis even briefly hosted her own talk show – “The Cindy Margolis Show”, filmed in Miami Beach, Florida.
Cindy Margolis’s work in advertisement is just one side of the coin, however; her greatest success has been as an Internet star. Named the “Queen of the Internet” by “Yahoo! Internet Life” between 1996 and 1999, Margolis entered history as 1999’s “most downloaded person”, with her images being downloaded a reported 70,000 times every 24 hours. This fame enabled her to continue working as a successful spokesmodel and presenter, partnering with the World Poker Tour in November 2005 to act as the new Chipleaders hostess. In December 2006, Cindy Margolis took part in a nude photoshoot for “Playboy”, dedicating the session to mothers and middle-aged women like herself. All these activities contributed significantly to Cindy’s net worth.
However, Margolis can also boast successes as an actress, appearing mostly in reality television and talk shows, as well as appearing in the 1997 film “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery” alongside lead actor and writer Mike Myers. No doubt thiese have had a positive effect on Cindy’s net worth too.
In her personal life, Cindy Margolis was married to restaurateur Guy Starkman from 1998 to 2009, and they have a son and two daughters, Cindy lives in Los Angeles, California.
