Are you ready for more hijinks, humor, and heart from All Creatures Great and Small? There are countless things to anticipate when the beloved show returns to MASTERPIECE with an all-new season on January 7, 2024 at 9/8c. But in honor of Season 4, we asked Helen Herriot actor Rachel Shenton to share four things to look forward to in All Creatures Great and Small‘s fourth season. Discover them below, and sign up for the All Creatures Great and Small Insider newsletter to explore and celebrate the world of the show all season long.
Helen and Mrs. Hall's Growing Friendship

“First thing I would say is that we see more of a beautiful friendship between Helen and Mrs. Hall that we haven’t seen before. I really enjoy that these two women have shared a house now for a couple of years, and their friendship deepens as life takes them in different directions as the series progresses. That was really lovely to film because I’m really good mates with Anna [Madeley, Mrs. Hall], so that’s always fun. But also, it’s just really nice to see those two characters be there for each other. That’s something to look forward to.”
The Community Coming Together

“Another thing to look forward to is the community coming together in a way that we probably haven’t seen before because of where we are. We’re on the brink of the war, the men are going off to fight, and so although it’s a slightly more serious undertone, there is still that connection with the village and the community, which is alive and well. That’s something to look forward to.”
More Animals

“And animal stories—that’s something always to look forward to. There’s more of those, and we see all different types of animals—all creatures, great and small, quite literally, which is great.”
The Christmas Episode

“The last thing I’ll say is the Christmas special is very special. And the snow. Those are my four things.”
