Tyler Wade was angry upon his demotion to the minor leagues, saying he “did everything they asked me to do.”

Turns out the infield/outfield prospect had to do one last thing the Yankees asked him: Get to the Stadium, somehow, now.

It was a wild Monday for Wade, who watched first Giancarlo Stanton go down, and the Yankees summoned … Clint Frazier.

Wade participated in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s media day, and about a half-hour before Yankees-Tigers first pitch, the Yankees announced Miguel Andujar would be put on the injured list, too, with a labrum tear that could end his season.

Wade, a 24-year-old who’s played in 66 big-league games but has not yet stuck in the majors, got the call. And so he summoned Uber.

“Got here as fast as I could,” Wade told reporters after Monday’s 3-1 win, for which he arrived in the seventh inning. “[I thought] don’t hit traffic, I didn’t want to miss the game. I knew it was urgent, we had a short bench. I wanted to get here as fast as I can.”

The Yankees paid for the car service for the 140-ish-mile trip, which Uber estimates would be about $183.

While Wade was not needed, it was worth the trip.

“I said it before, I put a lot of work in this offseason,” said Wade, whose spot on the roster was expected to be safe until the Yankees traded for Mike Tauchman, seeking a more experienced outfielder in the face of injuries to Aaron Hicks and Jacoby Ellsbury.

“I’m here now, just gonna continue everything I trusted this offseason and hopefully build off what I did in spring.”
